The New Model for Medicine
29 Jun 2009
The time has come to create a new model for medicine.
The current practice of medicine, based on 17th century Newtonian Physics, must begin to interact with a Quantum Mechanical vision of biology.
Newtonian Physics views chemical molecules as physical entities that diffuse across membranes and fit three-dimensional receptors passing instructions to the nucleus of the cell. This nucleus then reads the information and interprets it as fixed instructions from a fixed DNA code, eventually translating the instructions and producing predictable results of a fixed nature. In this world, results can be modified by creating physically and chemically similar molecules that are able to affect the human organism through cause and effect. This model envisions fundamentally separate pieces that come together in separation and interact with each other to produce predictable results.
Quantum Mechanics operates on radically different principles. All the parts that make up the system are viewed as being connected, resulting in an entire system. Although the connection starts at a subatomic level, it extends through all levels. Information is exchanged throughout the system: first at the subatomic level, then at the level of the atom becoming the element, next at the level of organism system and at the local ecosystem, and eventually at the planetary ecosystem. At the organism level, it has been established that the information exchange occurs through biological photons and is exchanged cell to cell.
The new model that can be envisioned is where consciousness on a collective level is associated with collective form. This consciousness connects to form electromagnetically and exchanges information by photons and includes all other entities, biological and otherwise.
On the level of individuated consciousness, there is a connection to individuated form through the mechanism of the DNA and also via electromagnetic connection. This occurs because of the biologic photons that exchange information at the level of individual cells. A connection is also made through the photons via the collective form. In this model, the photons in collective form are connected to individuated consciousness and the collective consciousness and are capable of receiving information from either source. The biological photons are also capable of receiving information from both individuated and collective consciousness.
This makes it possible for the cell to receive information by photons from the external as well as internal, with the balance between these two determining the expression of the DNA on the fly through epigenetics.
This new model would make it possible through consciousness to produce results with the outcome depending on perception and emotion, and where cause and effect can clearly be demonstrated.
The major difference between the new and the old model is that results would not be predictable, as they would principally depend on the individual. In this new model, only the individual can be responsible for the result.
This would empower the individual to determine his state of health by changing his perspective on it.

Hey Alford,
I believe the collective conciousness needed to alter the individuals behaviour in our country may come from two sources. One source would be from a charismatic leader (like president Obama) recognizing that the nation’s health care dilemma poses a “clear and present danger” to our national “security”. In responce, he would make personal health a civic responsibility…thereby deputizing all citizens to “do their part” for their country.
The other (and more likely scenerio) involves hitting people in their pocket book when they engage in unhealthy behaviors. In my experience, the only way people will consistently do the right thing is when they are financially rewarded for it. A good example is the spike in small, hybrid car sales after gas rose to $4.50/gallon.
There was a great article in in the Wall Street Journal recently that dealt with this very issue. The CEO of Safeway (the grocery store chain) wrote an article in the opinion section describing how his company has succeeded in developing a SUSTAINABLE health insurance model for it’s employees. Their approach is similar to Auto insurance. People with multiple accidents or tickets will be asked to pay more for insurance. All employees at Safeway start out at the same premium. Discounts are given for low BMI, Low cholesterol, Low BP, Etc. If an employee’s LDL is high, he is given 6 months to a year to lower it. If he reaches that goal, his premiums drop. With this model, not only has Safeway been able to keep their health care costs stable over the last 5 years (should I repeat that!), but it’s employees have embrased this approach as well.
It just proves the point that one of the main ingredients in sucessful healthcare reform is the behavior of the individual. To date, I have heard NO ONE address this problem. Maybe, with this internet forum, you can begin to raise awareness.

Has it not already been shown that a persons attitude has an influence on his well being???

Yes, and so this is choosing to influence to actively creating this state of well being!

hi alford. this response addresses both your new model for medicine and your failing health care reform articles. as with any cycle of abuse, the individual having the experience is the only one who can change that dynamic. not the goverment or the ama or any other organization or individual, therefore, i don’t believe that there can be or should be a new medical model. i think that in order for true change to take place we have to express a model of wellness. we are not going to change those who can only see the way they have always seen. that energy would best be used by giving people a new perspective of them selves and their world and let the old system do whatever it is going to do. in this way of thinking we can actually and truly offer a solution. wellness. a medical model should not and would not be the first thought for people who are well.
i work with more and more young people, who do not see themselves and their health as something inevitable. they, at these young ages, have already decided that they are not working for a job just because of medical benefits and they have decided that they are not wearing depends and giving all of their power to something outside of themselves such as illness. they are witnessing their parents and grandparents in horrible circumstances because of their failing health. so, my point is, things are changing. not the new medical model, but us. by the time these younger generations are grown we will have a my more empowered people who can make true changes in the world because they are well and strong and clear. i for one, chose to continue to empower these others and help them to see the truth of who we are and what we are capable of and isn’t that going to guarentee change? when we are powerless, everything is bleak and blurry, but when we realize how strong and powerful we are EVERYTHING CHANGES. this will be the result of taking responsibility for our own bodies and our own health and our own choices.
